Often, when developing a marketing plan we look backwards before we develop a forward looking marketing strategy. While there is a plethora of information on the web there are not too many places that offer the type of information that we marketers need…free-of-charge! However, one great ‘free’ tool that not only provides historical search trends but also permits segmentation of the data is Google Trends.  In the example below you can see the rise in interest in the search term iPad from its market introduction but you can also see a decline in search interest is 2013…..should Apple be concerned?
